Wondering what everyone's favorite LTD is and why. I've never played any of them, but I was curious.

There's really only one person I know who qualifies to answer this question... Mala...

Mala's list ??

1 2004 FNA Jazzman Koa
2 2002 FNA Jazzman Swirly Bubinga
3 2005 Corvette Hot Rod
4 2001 Thumb Bubinga Pommele
5 2006 Thumb Dirty Blonde
6 2003 Thumb Bleached Blonde

..................ok, I think this is Mala's list of favourite LTD basses; man, I really love these pop quizes. I wonder what I win if I have this list correct .......

never played on either but the 2002 and 2004 (the two jazzmans) are     :D Incredibly good looking (and im sure they sound rarther nice too  )

My fave LTD is without doubt the 2000 Infinty LTD.Probably the rarest LTD too.

Im torn on this one:

Id have to say my favorite for looks is the 2003 Bleached Blonde, but my favorite to play is my 2005 Hot Rod-5, and then possibly the 2006 Dirty Blonde I need to go pick up!

I really like the Koa topped Corvette myself. I've always had an eye for koa ever since I got my first Carvin catalog many years ago. The Infinity LTD is definitely superb though.

What is the difference between the infinity LTD and the infinity available in the catalogue now? They both have the flame/quilted top with F holes, same electronics... is it the NT?

The original Ltd's had open pole pickups as in the Jazzman series basses. Oliver has one of them and there are some posts around here somewhere that explain all the differences.
As for my favourite Ltd... hmmm... I've not played the '01, '02, '03, or '07 yet but to pick from the others I'd say the '04 Corvette. IMHO Thumbs are best left in dark exotic hardwoods 8) ~M~

yeah, I agree, neither the Bleached nor the Dirty Blonde have sounded quite the way I wanted them too...

I've only tried three of the limited editions... The 2002 FNA Jazzman, the 2003 Thumb LTD and the 2006 Thumb LTD, and I like the Jazzman the best (wish I had bought it when I had the chance!), then the 2006 LTD, and I wasn't a huge fan of the 2003 LTD.

Ok,

I haven't given my own opinion yet.......... I haven't test driven any of these basses; I only held the Bleached Blonde and the Koa Jazzman in my hands.......
I guess sound wise I should be more interested in an Ovangkol necked bass, but since I already play a Thumb NT, I maybe be more interested in a totally different sounding bass, such as the Hot Rod......
Esthetically, I love the Koa Jazzman and the Hot Rod, but again, I probably want a totally different looking instrument than my Thumb, so I probably will go for the Hot Rod.
But to actually buy one, I gotta test drive all of them. And as you know, there is anly one place where you can do that:
Tea and biscuit time at Mala's !!

I'd say the Infinity LTD 2000 is my favorite to play and also in terms of looks.

I'm not really a fan of the ltd's... I'm in love with my 6 string thumb broadneck bo :) If I was to get a ltd though... I'd get the new 07 thumb...

I'd say the 2004 LTD because it's sitting in my lap.

dirty blonde!
i didnt like it at all first but shes hot! :D :D :D

1.st place: Corvette "HOT ROD" 2005
2.nd place: FNA Jazzmann 2002

They have killer looks, and I`d like to see a HOT ROD next to my all-black Vampyre.
