Thanks Florin. I have stripped a previous coated ash body (which the Pro 2 is). Quite a job as the grain is very deep, so getting the grain filler out is a real problem. Takes time and sweat I can tell you. I have also stripped and stained a Maple neck also - the stain does tend to wear away fairly easily unless it's coated with a fine flat matt clear finish. I'm not big on non-oil finishes, but that one worked really well. I'm just not big on natural Maple as a colour. Or ash really, but at least Ash has a nice grain figure to it. The reason I'm refinishing the bass is that it's very chipped and dirty. May even need to replace hardware if it's in bad quality. I'll post pics throughout the process. Sorry for the long essay
