The only sad part is that the pickups have gone a bit wonky recently. Meaning, that there is a 'pingy' sound whenever i play it. i think the pickups (or something else, maybe the preamp) have gone microphonic. i don't know if thats the word but if i were to tap the body of the guitar a loud 'ping' can be heard. it is quite annoying.
Money is a bit tight at the mo to get it fixed but i hope one day i will.

It's a very interesting (good sounding too apparently) and historical piece of bass you've got there..............gotta love history man.............. :wink:

i don't really have much stuff of the bass on it's own but there are a couple of vids on youtube ( i know the sound quality ain't great) my band did some time ago and you can hear it there... other than that i can email you a snippet or two ( i don't have anywhere to upload it to). depending if i can find anything.

i bought it second hand in a music shop in my hometown in Ireland many years ago for 600 Irish Pounds (quite some time ago) and i've done nothing to it other than bleed, sweat and leave my skin on it
i'm pretty sure its the original colour.. its serial is L54191. if thats any help to ya.
I own a very early and rare dolphin pro II... it has no serial number, came with black hardware, and natural oil finish, so you can see the ash wood in all of its glory.... Ir you are interested, let me know.

Just bought a Dolphin Pro 2 - think its a 92-94 model - not sure as the pic on ebay is a bit blurry, but its needing refinished. Intend to strip the whole bass and finish it naturally. Considering whether to stain the Ash body a rich deeper colour and clean up the hardware. I've made a few basses before, so I know what I'm up against. Should be a good little project. Hmm, should I stain the Maple neck too? Do you guys think staining the bass will devalue its worth?
