Does Bootsy still play bass?

Ok a little esoteric but here goes... If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it does it make a sound?

To say whether or not he is ill or quit/stoped playing bass because you don't see him hot doggin around on youtube or NAMM does not mean that he quit. Bootsy can look at a bass and it will start playing! :) You could have said the same thing about Larry Graham a couple of years ago...
I did a little digging and found something recent. Here he is in 2008 at a James Brown Tribute he put on.

Not to diminish the sentiment of encouraging and loving an artist so much that you just want to see him play and celebrate his funkyness (Paul I reread your post starting this thread and with the exception of stating that he is riding on his stuff from 60's and 70's-a little harsh no?- it would be great so see him with a bass strapped on groovin and smiling). If you have not seen the Unsung documentary on him it is a great little window on his life and the challenges he has overcome.

Unless the tree falling causes all the air to rush out of the forest, thus creating a vacuum. Then, no, it doesn't make a sound.

Even if no-one is around to hear the 'oscillation of pressure within the frequency range of human hearing', it still occurs. If the forest was populated by deaf people, the sound would still occur, just not be heard.

The universe doesn't need us to witness it for it to exist, nor does Bootsy. Maybe he funks it up every day at his home, with no-one to see. Maybe he feels he's payed his dues and only wishes to perform for others on special occasions. Only he knows.

But it certainly takes nothing from him, simply because he isn't in the spotlight anymore. Though I can understand the need to see him thwack his bass again, he's damn good. I guess its our job to carry on the funk. Probably what he had in mind with the Funk University. 8:

I watched the clips, and didnt see Bootsy playing anything, but again standing there, being funky, and whatnot.

It seems like one would have to spot him playing eventually, since he got an endorsement with Warwick, I mean somewhere along the line, even Warwick will get suspicious. :p

I saw and met him a few months ago at the NAMM show, I even saw Michael Hampton, (Parliament-Funkadelic) when he came to the Pavel booth!
