DI for Warwick

I was thinking about getting a decent DI around Christmas time - My main bass is a Corvette STD 5 active Mec 2-way - I know this is a previous topic but thought I'd post and see if theres any new replys - Which DI's would be best for this bass? - I also would like to try a DI with a built in pre-amp to try out with my passive basses
 
Sans Amp bass driver DI is probably the best little box in the world for that money.
If you wanna go harcore, you can try the Avalon DI :-)
 
Sansamp is great, but I have more experience with Hartke VXL. Its a DI-preamp + tone shaper. It`s about half price of the SansAmp, and the best money I`ve ever spent on bass-equipment, second after the Vampyre.

The tube-effect is really good, and the Harmonizer and Grit adds a really snappy distortion to the sound.
 
I'd say any good DI will work, I don't think they make Warwick specific DI's. A decent DI should sound good on a Warwick, Alembic, or Daisy Rock.
 
SansAmp for me... GREAT pedal.
 
Hey man, I don't actually use a DI, I just send a signal to the board out the back of my SWR SM900 however I do use a Radial Bassbone, it's awesome. The reason I bought the bassbone is because I use 2 basses and I needed a better switch then the Morley switch that I've been using for a few years. The Bone was a little more then what I needed as I don't really need a DI but it does have an FX loop which I needed and the channels have an EQ which I was okay with but I thought it might be a bit noisy. When I took it home and pluged it in I thought there was something wrong with it becasue I couldn't hear any hiss from the EQ; was I ever surprised when I realized that it was working perfectly and it's sooo quiet. That being said, I've never used the DI part of the switch but we use several other Radial DI units in my band and they are extremely good. I'm sure the DI part of the Bone would be quiet and sound great. I see you use 2 basses so maybe you could give the Bassbone at try. It's a really great piece of gear for me and if it died or was lost or stolen, I'd buy another one at full price tomorrow.

I use EBS microbass II - as a DI and pre-amp for my amp. Amazing build quality and amazing sound, and very versatile. If you just want the DI, though, go for something cheaper.

I thought about the sansamp DI when I got this, but the mid-control did it for me!
 
I've mentioned it enough times that I'm starting to think I should be receiving royalties, but I've yet to find anything that (I think) beats the MXR M-80 Bass DI+. It has a preamp channel that sounds pretty much identical to the SansAmp, but also has a mid-control; plus it has a distortion channel (with a built in noise gate) that goes from mild fuzz to nuclear destruction. It's also cheaper (cost-wise) than the SansAmp and way less than the EBS. Worth a look anyway.
 
I'm leaning twards the MXR-M-80 because of the price, features and looks like a few bass players I really like use it - Of course Imma try out what I can at the stores when I get a chance
 
I won't deny that - although the EBS is an amazing bit of kit - it is expensive, and I've got a load of features that I'm not likely to use!
Reckon any of these would be fine, but the MXR sounds good to me... does Evolvebass work for MXR? He's done a good job selling them! :wink:
