Anyone know which bass, I think its a Thumb, Dave Benedict of Default uses, and more importantly which strings????

if you don't know this answer...which strings will give nice mid-punch to cut through the mix yet still shake the walls with bass and be clear on teh highs but not tinny sounding?

IMO I think that most if not all nickel wound strings give a nice mid boost.

are they slappable as well?? I'm asking because I'm about to change my strings on my Warwick FNA Jazzman...just want strings that will complement it well. Suggestions are also greatly appreciated!

I have the Warwick yellow lable strings (which are nickel) on my thumb and they sound very good for slaping along with fingerstyle.

i forget the terms right now, but if you're playing modern rock or most hard rock in general, you will want the round strings (?). Don't get the flatwounds (?) as these produce more of a mellow tone, suitable for example in fretless basses.

There is a number of string threads here. I think it all comes down to personal opinion...
