Custom Shop wish list and ideas

So I have a few ideas that I think would look cool or be helpful to the warwick sound.

1.) Post nut string mute- this would be a small piece of rubber or fabric that would be attached just pass the nut on the headstock. It would either slightly pushup or wrap around the headstock strings so that you wouldn't get that ringing noise. You could make them adjustable like the Adjust A Nut.

2.) Sunk in knobs, bridge, pickups- I was thinking it would look cool if the knobs, bridge, and pickups had a small dip in the wood around them so they appeared to be sinking into the wood. There are guitar companies that do this with their knobs but not with the bridge or pickups. I think it would add to the roundness or the warwick look.

3.) Colored hardware- it would be cool if we could get colored hardware that was chromed or just flat colored. It would be neat to see a bass with a red finish and yellow hardware, a white bass with blue hardware, or a black bass with red hardware.

That's all I can think of for now. Tell me your thoughts.

Hmmmmmm...........................Interesting.................

I'd say, if you do that, then you would just change the "karma" of Warwick basses too much. However, if these feature would become standard features on all Warwicks...................Hey, I think I'd dig that very much...................Sounds really sexy to me..............

Time for a mockup ??

"Zeroth" as in Zero... It's an additionnal fret, just after the nut. It helps reduce the tonal difference between a fretted note and an open string...

It is one of the interesting bits of having a brass nut as well...
 
I thought maybe it's some fancy pants slang I've never heard.
I know whatta zero fret is Jan :roll: :lol:

If I get a neck through bass that is high gloss black will the CS shop make the face of the headstock high gloss black also?
 
You'd have to specify a matching headstock and pay for the finish, but it's possible, yeah...

About the first one, I´m not sure if there is a big need for such a thing. You could also do it with a scrunchy like many artists...

Then, the 2nd one. I guess I understand what you are talking about, but don´t forget that we use our standard CNC programs as basis, even for Custom Shops!!! That´s the reason why I believe we cannot do what you are expecting from us. But the bridges, tailpieces and pickups are already routed deeper into the body wood for creating this attractive "all integrated" visual effect.

Finally the third one.
We know that some makers offer coloured hardware, but be honnest with yourself, do you find it looks good and professionnal?? We prefer staying in the classic choice of gold, black, chrome and satin.

I don´t see any interest doing this, except for fun... We would have maybe 3 requests and I´m not sure if somebody will order something at the end... We have to be realistic, and offer options that makes sense and interest for most of people.

Is a 'Zeroth' fret available from the CS?

This, is interesting!!! Once again I´m not sure if a lot of people would be interested in such a feature, but it definitely sounds sensefull to me.
 
With a zero fret you'd lose all the versatility of the JAN. I'd quite like one on an acoustic guitar for a nice low action... but does anyone ever have them on a bass?

You are right... but maybe some people could be interested in this low action feature. So what do you all think about this topic?
 
i like the JANs the way they are right now, but i agree a zero-fret customshop option (with a fixed nut obviously) could be nice :wink:

and what about the buzzard headstock on the vampyre, Gregory? 8)





again, it looks more balanced with the reverse one :D
 
Personally I'd be happy if the buzzard headstock was available as a CS option on all models... (along with the 44mm nut). :twisted:
