Corvette swilry with MM/J pups

What do you think about a Corvette with Swamp Ash / Swirly Bubinga Top and Bartolini MM/J pickups?
Is it ok for playing rock music and what are the different with the standard swamp ash and standard bubinga Corvette?
I need a help about this kind of bass...
 
the swamp ash bass is lighter than bubinga and has a deeper and smoother tone definition (it's allready a classic and trusted bodywood for all kind of basses), the bubinga bass has better sustain and the tone is brighter and midrangy. the lighter the wood is the fuller the sound will be, heavier means natural compression. BOTH have the warwick growl, but the bubinga one tend to be closser to the Thumb bass wich is the W trademark, if you know it.

your bass should sound good i think like you describe it :wink:
 
Well,

if the Ash version sounds great..............and the Bubinga version sounds great too..................And you can't decide which bass to buy, just get one with both woods. Good choice, can't go wrong !!! :twisted:

FNA Jazzman LTD 2002. Body is walnut though, but should be quite similar.

I really like "that kind of" swirly bubinga...where's more white/yellow color to it rather then red/orange...
