Can anyone tell me whether the 3 piece neck on the Corvette$$ - (the one with the 2 MM-stylee pickups) - has a different profile to the single piece neck on the Corvette standard? If it is different how would you describe it - e.g. like a J bass / P-bass / Rickenbacker etc?? I've found plenty of Corvette standards to try out in various shops but no $$s and it sounds like it could be the one I'm after but haven't found one I could try.

I've played several Corvette Std.s and I own a Corvette $$ (Sweet bass :D ). There is no noticeable difference really. They both feel the same and they're both made of Ovangkol so you practicaly have no difference in sound either.

Owl,

I own a Corvette Double Buck and I have to tell you that this bass responds very prompt and has a beautiful tone. As I don't had/have a Corvette Standard, I can't tell you more.

I have some observations regarding to Corvette Double Buck's sound and sustain, but it's not relevant if you want to chose only between Corvettes.

As far as I can tell all the bolt-on Warwicks use the same stock necks. There is very little or no difference in neck profiles between body shapes.

Necks are the same...no difference...
Strange... The product info pages indicate that the $$ has a 4 stripes laminated ovangkol neck whereas for all the rest of the Corvettes it only mentions an ovangkol neck. I wonder if Owl was right in the first place. Anyone else with information on this?

My 'vette standard has 3 pc laminated neck (or 5 piece if you count the headstock). Didn't notice any difference in either construction or neck profile when I was comparing the std to the $$.
