Corvette $$/Proline

It's my understanding that the Proline is discontinued and can only be had (new) via the custom shop...

Where did you pick that up? I was once skeptic about this matter too at one time because it said (on warwickbass.com) that it was currently not in production, like the stremaer lx. We have discussed this matter before on this forum and when I e-mailed Dana B it turned out that they were having shipping problems with the corvette pro for some reason. It's not being discontinued though...

I'll tryed a Corvette $$ yesterday and I really love them ! I play a both of funk and it was really the slap machine that I looking for ! But I also play a bot of jazz taht for what I tinking about both a Corvette proline ... Did some body think that the $$ is anought versatile to play jazz with it ... it's a real beast ! So .. ? Thanks guys for your answers !

Well, I own a $$ 4 in Nirvana Black and I must say it's quite an interesting instrument. I play in a jazz workshop and occasionally use my $$ there. It does do well but for some reason I think that my Ibanez SR 500 with Bartolini soapbar pickups does a better job. The neck of the Warwicks are not as thin as those of the Ibanez basses which can be a little inconvenient when playing Jazz, IMO. It's still a great bass for Jazz though. It does have a wide range of tones and is a real slap machine. I give it a 9 out of 10 especially because (in comparrison to other Warwicks and equally good basses) it's so cheap.

Problems shipping 1 particular bass? That makes zero sense to me, but hey, I could certainly be wrong. I guess I assumed "out of production" meant, well, out of production.
I personally think there are better (Warwick) choices if you're a jazz player than the $$, but I also would have nothing but good things to say about it as a bass. Best wishes.

I haven't heard anything about the Proline being custom shop only... I do know that the Proline isn't as popular a seller as the bubinga and ash 'vettes, though, and it's true that demand is what determines supply in the instrument business... so if you put out the feelers, you'll find one.

Today I called a shop in order to know what would be the French retail price for a Streamer LX 5 BN...
The guy told me there are no LX 5 BN being produced in "series" anymore... Available on special orders only...
Any infos ?

I think they're still being produced in series but maybe the French Warwick dealer (don't know what it's called) hasn't ordered any right now. This could be one possible explanation.

That's interesting. I never knew that the LX BN was a special order bass. My local music shop has one hanging on the shelf. Then again this could explain why it has a sign saying "Don't Touch" on it and the Stage I next to it doesn't.

If you are not using different woods or finishes. Getting this done could be rather inexpensive. I suggest contacting the custom shop directly for accurate pricing on this option and to make sure it is available.
