Corvette $$ NT anyone?

I haven't been around for a while, but I see that Warwick now offers the Corvette $$ in a NT model. Has anyone tried it out? I'd like to hear some reviews, thanks a lot! :D
 
there should be a few guys on here who can give you some feedback on this, although I think most of them have the Bubinga version, not the ash one...

I don't own one, but tried it at the shop the other day... I must say I much prefer the tone of the NT Bubinga compared to the standard BO ash $$ - it seems much more defined and tighter in the low end, but the maple neck gives it a nice snappy fender type feel too :P

It does weigh a ton though!
 
yeah, the NT Corvetter is pretty sweet, but I woudl prefer the Bubinga version. i sort of wish it was a hidden neck through so it doesnt cause a color clash on the front side.

I've played the Bubinga version in 4 string and it's an awesome bass ! WAY better than the BO version... (I mean better than the Ash bolt-on $$)

There's a great way to take care of that: get a CS with a wenge or ovangkol neck ! :)

Based on what I look for in a bass sound, it's the best Warwick I've heard yet. Very punchy, with a well-rounded and thick tone.

It's interesting how many people think because it uses a maple neck that it will sound "Fender-ish". Thanks to the coil-tapping switches you can do it, but those humbuckers do a whole lot more. Passive pickups really do bring out the natural sound of the body wood.

An interesting consideration is that as much as I liked having the coil-tap switches on the BO $$, because the tone was pretty dark already (ash body/ovangkol neck), they only seemed to slightly change the overall tone. With the NT $$, you're starting with a cleaner tone so the coil-taps can dramatically change your tone.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that while the maple nack does a great job adding clarity, those massive humbuckers still give it plenty of bite and a ton of presence. I'd highly recommend trying one...

Wow, you're gonna sell both of your basses to fund one CS? Now that's dedication...
 
Just the NT. The BO can passify me in the meantime. And Wal's aren't going anywhere! Very tough decision though... :cry:

With or without the Bartolini's, Malk??? :D

I'm betting it would snarl like mad! I'm not sure it would be dramatically different than your current CS though, but NT's certainly add string-to-string tone balance and sustain, not to mention the killer looks and playability...
 
look at the SS1. all you have to do with the front is to put on ekanga veneer between the neck stripes, and will be more defined, no matter wich version bubinga or ash. :wink:
