Corvette FNA Strings

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone had an opinion as to what strings sound best on a Corvette FNA 5. I recently purchased one and it sounds like it needs some string replacement. Thanks

Hi, there are probably 20 topics covering strings on this forum and the truth is that everytime you ask, you will have a different answer, it's very much about personal taste. By the way - WELCOME :lol:

hey I have the same question. I like smooth strings, great low end real oomph...mids that will cut through the mix and highs that aren't glassy or twangy but are very slappable....

Today I only play on EBS Titanium Nickle strings, have everything for me - bright hights, growly middle and very defined lows and smooth to play. They are brand new so I cannot say anything about life but they should have at least twice the life time of the Northern Lights. And I am feeling sorry for myself laying in hospital with a newly operated arm. Will hopefully give me a little more senitivity and function in the left hand. But no bass playing for a while :cry: Cheers / mats

Mats my man,I had no idea ya went under the knife.I hope it all goes well etc.I was all set to start bass lessons with Steve Hunter ( Aussie bass virtuoso) last week but I cut my right thumb pretty bad so I had to postpone. :cry:
That same thumb got smashed a few years ago so now I only have 1/4 of a nail on it,but it healed up fine.
Keep us all posted eh bro,there's people here that care about ya.

I really like Warwick's EMP strings. I've had a set on my FNA for 5 months now and not noticed ANY deterioration in sound quality yet. They are not cheap, but the life gives as good value as cheaper strings.

Thanks Jay, the arm looks like sh*t but the fingers already feels better than before the surgery so in the end it will just be another scar to show on the beach next year :lol:

Well, for stings I use "DR Fat Beams - Marcus Millers" They play great and sound great! I had some black beauties, wasn't that pleased with them. The fat beams are a good all around string, feel nice on the hand, and last a while. They are $24.99usd at Guitar Center.

Mala - Bummer, maybe it will give you super fast fingers eh?

Thanks Malk! I will actually go down to Germany for the European Bass Day on October 29 and bring four basses with me: a stealth black fretless 4 (completely matt black with blue LEDs), two 5-stringed (one high gloss blue quilted maple and one with an extreme birdeye rock maple, both with Barts PU and preamps) and one 6-string fretless NT with bird eye poplar top and blue LEDs. So - I will probably recover soon :lol:

+1 on these strings, although I know strings are all personal opinion...
