Corvette body transplant

Basically all i need to know is will a 1997 wenge neck from a corvette fit on a new corvette body snug without making any changes to either?

I saw some pictures of older Vett's with the wenge neck the back side of the body had different shaping compared to the new Vett.The older profile looked more like a bolt on thumb,the newer Vett has a pronounced ridge.

Each neck is hand fitted with it's original body. If you want to exchange them they probably will fit... somehow, but not like the original.

Sound like it would be a lot of skilled work,If the neck is the same with or slightly larger it might work.If the neck pocket is larger it wouldn't be worth it.I have done this kind of swap on cheap basses and it can be a pain.

One member here has done it between 2 of his Vettes.Both necks fitted both neck pockets but that was his experience.Just thought it might help.

The other tip I have is to make sure the neck mounting screws go back in the correct holes.The length of the screws are different.I know this sounds kid simple but I saw a guitar tech mess up once.He put the long screw in the short hole and it went through the fret board and push up a fret.He did it on a guitar.luckily he removed the screw and reseated the fret,so you couldn't see the damage.
