Here is a recording I made with the X Bass :-) Both P pickups, right in the middle, tones full opened, no piezo, with Hellborg pre, EQ off.

super phat, you must be happy with it, but I prefer the thumb tone, but that bass is incredible sounding
 
I don't know what's better that Hellborg preamp or the actual bass... Wait, BOTH. Any way you slice it, its a damn good sound.
 
Here are more tests with the Xbass with and without the Hellborg preamp, and with slap too :-)
