what are your thoughts?

i like the headstock design...
 
the headstock indeed looks positively vicious, but the body looks like a pale imitation of the Alembic Dragon's wing:



Which is all fine and proper in the "Entwistle" theme... After all the current Warwick Stryker is directly inspired by the Alembic Spyders:

I thought this bass was the budget Buzzard.....................I thought it looked pretty good for something that's budget.............But IT'S THE REAL THING !!!! Hahahahhaa..................... :lol: :oops:
 
I've read a few reviews of Russtones that all say they're crap with a capital C. At a G note I'd hardly call it budget, for a bit more you can likely find a good used one, I turned down a new onr for 1500 US.

Yes, it's not exactly budget................I'd get something else for that kind of money. :roll:

That headstock does look vicious - you'd get plenty of room on stage with that - no lead singer getting in your way. :D
 
My local bass shop has an Alembic 8 string the same as in that pic.Jan,I'm sure you'd love it,especially the LED's.

how much?

cause i actually am gassing for that alembic dragon wing... until i saw it was $8K and i was like "ok, i could get 2 more wicks and an ampeg for that"

You wont get much change from $10,000AU for the Alembic.
 
& I thought I was old & bitter.Some of you teenagers are even worse than me. :shock:
 
Alembics are amazing machines, but there's a good reason why the OX moved away from them at some point: they are somewhat lacking in stability and ruggedness... That was the reasoning behind tha creation of the Buzzard, first with Warwick, then with modulus carbon necks, and finally as an all carbon bass with Status...

Plus I'd rather get a 8-string Stryker for 3k Euros than an 8-string Spyder for 10k euros! But maybe that's just the Warwick fanboy speaking... :P

but yea im really not a fan of this one
