"Brandino" in new GK ad

Hey guys. I have always seen Kevin "Brandino" Brandon playing Wicks but i was a bit confused as to what he was holding in the GK ad in the new BP mag. There was even a nice article about him earlier in the issue andhis gear list didn't say anything about it. Just wondering if someone could shed some light on this. Thanks again.
 
I'm curious too about that bass - it does have a Warwick two-piece bridge, and the tuners might be Warwick, but nothing else looks like Warwick and there is no logo on the headstock to say what it is. But he is still a Warwick user/endorsee.

Also, in the article, Brandino claims to have had fun playing on Jamiroquai's Dynamite album, yet his name is nowhere in the liner notes - only three other bass players are credited...

Yeah Madrakket - that puzzled me too because I'd discussed with others (at length) all the players on that album and his name NEVER came up.

As for his basses, they list them in BP magazine, no?

Also - he's featured on the warwick.de homepage.

Yeah Madrakket - that puzzled me too because I'd discussed with others (at length) all the players on that album and his name NEVER came up.

As for his basses, they list them in BP magazine, no?

They do list the basses but i believe all that is listed is his warwicks and his EUB.
 
Ahh, sorry, I understand now.

Yeah, the bass in the back cover G-K ad isn't listed in the article's gear list... And even in the G-K ad, they list him as having played with Jamiroquai...

It looks like an amateur luthier made him a bass or something and threw a Warwick bridge on it.
 
yeah, i find it funny he plays with dionne warwick. now that i think of it, they probably didn't want him having a warwick since warwick makes amps too, and it would be advertising the competition.
 
My guess is that he wasn't allowed to show a Warwick bass in a GK ad...

I might be wring though.
 
I recognise the bass from it's headstock & horns.I'll try to identify it.
 
The headstock looks almost like a reverse Peavey headstock. It's weird too because it has gold tuners and a chrome bridge... Also check out the controls - I don't see any knobs, just a toggle switch and what looks like 5 push-button switches and open-pole pickups. The inlays also look familiar to me. If anything, it's a Frankenstein mish-mash of several brands (or a luthier's copy) and a strange electronics package!

Also, on Brandino's own website, he has a 2006 listing of his studio and live work, and makes no mention of Jamiroquai back then...
 
Lex, do you have the credits to the 2 new songs on High Times. He could have played on one of those tracks.
 
I think it was the new bassist Paul Turner. Not 100% sure though.
