Beeswax question

What's up you guys,
I just bought my first Warwick today!
I love its growl tone!
(I'll post a pic later)

But I was wondering if I need to use beeswax on my finish.
The folder that came with the gig bag has a slot for it but there wasn't any in there..and the manual said the wax is necessary for the natural oil finish..but not advisable for a colored oil finish...
Its the red Ash Corvette Standard

the wax you got was probably for another bass.

No do not wax your oil colored finish. do not put lemon oil or wax on the finish otherwise will sooner or later get ruined.

the wax is for natural finished basses.

ok great! I was confused! I have a Dunlop Formula 65 set. Will that be ok for my finish?
 
Yep - don't use wax on the body of your bass - the coloured finish doesn't require it.

You can use it on the back of the Ovangkol neck ;) I think you should.

You know you're a good father when you know all about the big guys in the kids entertainment biz Jorje.;)
Being an Aussie dad I'm all too familiar with B1 & B2 & can even boast to having met one.Cant remember which one it was tho.I'm gonna guess B1.See,when Zakk's mum & I first separated,she shared an apartment with this middle aged dingbat originally from New Zealand who's son works for the ABC.That's Australia's government owned tv & radio broadcaster.Nerds call the EBC,"Aunty".
I have absolutely no idea why.Just thought as long as I'm braggin I might as well go the whole hog.:P:x:twisted::D
 
I got the feeling from your post that you didn't get wax with your bass. I'd get something the do the back of the neck. For that small area prolly any beeswax will do. A lot of people recommend 'Howard's' clean and shine, or shine and clean, whatever, but I like the Warwick wax because it has everything Howard's has except the number for poison control on the container. Howard's has a petroleum distillate used to liquify it, Warwick doesn't. The distillate is toxic. I have cats, so for me that's important.

Warwick wax might be a tad more work but I wouldn't use anything else.

it is "Woward's Feed N Wax". that's also a good alternative
;)

I use that and my Warwick wax too.;)
