beautiful streamer stage I

Very nice... Sadly I don't like the sound of maple all that much.

Now that's a good question............It looks like just a little bit of antique tobacco has been applied. It seems as if there is just too much contrast for a natural oil or high polish finish...............
 
wow thats a beautiful bass....

as for the contrast it'll probably be as people have said be due to oil that was applied to it....not enough enough experience with oils to know what ones though :(

Maybe it's linseed oil. I thought that darkens the wood much more than bees wax......
 
Yeah, It does look as if it has had linseed oil applied to it... Linseed oil will darken/yellow the wood a bit.

Deffinitely Quilted maple...
Which is "normal" for the body, but the fingerboard also looks quilted!
 
The body is probably 4A Quiled maple. I don't like it. Bit to "pompous" for my taste. :)
 
The fretboard is more flamed or birdseye rather than quilted...
 
my vote goes for quilted maple body with a natural satin stain, and a quilted fingerboard also
