Hey guys! I just wanted to share with you my new Streamer $$! It is incredible. Greg Bump at Rocketmusic gives us forum members a discount. He even changed the hardware from gold to black for me at cost. I got all this out the door for less than $1,500.00 US! He was extremely nice and bent over backwards for me.

Luckily Flo gave his $$ guide on another thread recently, because this helped me understand how to use my new bass. At first I thought the pickups were muddy and unusable. I now know that the bass is very versatile. I recommend lowering those massive pickups down far away from the strings, though.

The bass has a black finish and matching black hardware. The body is cut from Ash, the neck is maple, and the fretboard is wenge. Once I got the action how I like it, it plays as well as my Thumb BO (A+). The tone of the instrument is not as Warwicky as my Thumb and Fortress (read: growwlll), but it can sound just like any well made American bass (Jazz, Precision, Sting Ray, Sterling, or Precision Deluxe). My guess is that this derives from the more standard woods that the bass is made of.

One last thing, I took some photos with my digital camera and want to post them but don't know how. Can anyone tell me how to do that? Shouldn't the "Manage Attachments" button do it? Thanks!

yes, that should do it.. just open the attachments window, select files, upload them, when the upload is done close the window and post.. the pics should be there :) also congrats on your awesome new bass!
 
Is is possible that this is not working because my photos are over the 537 KB limit? If so, how do I compress the photos? Thanks!
 
Hey! Look at that! I guess I need to find another way to shrink the file without stealing color. Thanks for the help. If I don't type the IMG stuff, what happens?
 
Greg Bump (Rocket Music) is THE MAN! I thought about pulling the trigger on that Streamer several times. Congratulations! I dig the black hardware too...

Is it normal to have to back those pickups way down? Do all Streamers have a neck that feels this good? Mine's brightness needs a little taming. Is that normal or maybe just my strings (Ernie Ball Slinky)? Do I need to rub wax on the body since the finish is not clear-coated? Thanks!

Yes.

No, definitely not (color stain).

A normal spacing would be around 4mm for the bridge pickup, measured from the poles to the string. The neck pickup should be even lower. If you dig in really hard, maybe even 5 mm.

2009 Warwicks have the new "slim" necks, while older warwicks have bigger necks.
This streamer feels more confortable than other basses. Streamer LX too. But it is not because of the neck construction, but because it has a very good sound, without any effort. You play it effortless. A STreamer Stage II for example may feel a little bit harder to play.

The bass is bright, but it is a brightness that will help you in the mix. Chosing other brand of strings would help to sound less harsh, maybe Elixirs. But I don't think your bass really needs to be tamed. If you play it gently it should be pretty tamed. And Slinkys are not that bright if I remember correctly.

So the pickups should be lowered then?

Do you think I should lower my streamer $$ PU's? Should I notice a big improvement?

After seeing that first picture I'm thinking one of these with a really dark black stained body and ebony board would look really mean with the black hardware. First streamer to really impress me. Hope you get on with it well.
