BC Combo Amps

How do you like the sound? Also, has anyone tried the higher power rated combos of the new line yet? I love my BC 60.1 but I will need bigger to gig with (as soon as I find a band or start one myself). I'm looking to the new line as, to be honest, I like the sound of the BC 60.1 more than the Sweet 15 or the bigger combo in the old line. May have just been the shop and acoustics but everything flat, the lil 60 sounded cleaner than the bigger ones. I'm looking for a similar clean sound out of the new ones as well. Hopefully I'll get a chance to try them here mid year. :)
 
I'm curious how well these do, too.

I had a Fender Rumble 100 - 100w 15" amp with tweeter. Even maxed out it couldn't keep up with a band practice in my friend's living room.

Just hoping the Warwick amps of lower or similar wattage don't suffer the same fate.
 
I ended up cancelling my order for the BC 80. Found a better deal on a used Take 12.1.

BC 150 is tons clearer than BC 60.1 !! It also has a bigger bottom and is more defined overall

We have Fender Rumble 75w 12" in our rehearsal room and it works well even with half the volume. However I was much more pleased when I took my BC 150 to the practice

I'd reconsider if I were you.

I've played and owned a few Take 12.1 combos, and whilst I haven't played a new BC yet, I believe from the reports coming out that the BC80 will be MUCH better.

I couldn't believe how loud my 60.1 actually was when I first started playing on it. Very surprising how loud it actually gets. The only reason I want a bigger combo is for gigging at some stage. The old 60.1 (thanks again Luke for recommending it over the little Ashdown I was looking at) is a very sweet amp.

Kisu, the Sweet 15.1 I tried, at least in the shop, was, I don't know how I should put it. If it were (pardon me everyone) a class versus ass contest, the 60.1 would have been the subtle class and the Sweet 15 was all ass. I'm sure if I would have played with it a bit I would have gotten it to the way I liked but the 60.1 flat was the one for me. When the new BC's finally get here I'll try them beside the older Sweets and see if there is a major or subtle difference. Even with this comment there wasn't a world of difference between the two amps I tried, it was the subtleties that swayed me.

Anyways, this is becoming a really interesting thread and it's great to see all the people who use the Warwick amp line, especially the combos. :)

Now you tell me. :p It's already on its way. I'm sure the BC is probably nicer but the Take is going to be used only in the house so I'm not so concerned with its headroom nor am I'm looking for the killer tone. However I say this without playing it yet. :D

That's OK, I'm sure you'll like it - and the good thing is, as you picked it up second hand already, you should be able to sell it for what you paid if it isn't what you're after.

Yeah I think it will be fine for home. I wanted something simple.
 
considering that I bought it for learning how to play the bass I think it's enough for now, especially that I'm using it in a relatively small room.
It sounds clean, and for now I'm satisfied with it. Maybe in the future when I will be a pro, :d, in a big house, maybe than I will go for bigger ones. Until that...I'm scarring my cat, and blowing the dust from the furniture with this BC 40. :lol:
