Bass books...

I just got back from Guitar Center and picked up the Bill Dickens slap bass book... I can't remember the exact name of it... My bass is currently taken apart and being waxed like crazy (thanks for the reminder Lex :P ) I should have my new gold hardware on friday and should be able to try out some things in this book...

Back onto the subject though, Wondering if anyone can recommend some good slapbass books? I keep playing the same old lines over and over again and can use a nifty little manual to help shape my skill a bit more.
 
Bill Dickens "Funk bass and beyond" instructional video is amazing. Oscar Stagnaro "The Latin Bass book". Ed Friedland (spellcheck?) "Building Walking Basslines". Enjoy :wink:
 
Why don't you try working out some of your favourite slap lines....that usually forces you to play in a way that is outside of your 'style'. Stu Hamm has a completely different style to Marcus Miller for instance.

Who's style do you like (slap wise)?

I've got a couple of the Level42 books from Stuart Clayton and they are spot on.
 
Hmmmmmmmmmm Guitar Center sounds too tempting right now - Maybe I can convince myself to only buy a book and some strings
