Bad sense about a RB Streamer!!! won't I buy a RB¿?

Hi!

I want to buy a fretless bass... I'd been looking the RB series, but I want to try stuff, in the shops, to do the correct buy for me. I am interessed in the new Fortress... a FL, but evidently I can't find it in the shops of my zone. But I went yesterday to look for them, and I tried a Streamer, which I had the first idea of not to be a great bass(streamer is the cheaper RB), but anyway I expected to find a good bass, because It was a RB...

... so I get disapointed, I found the playability quite poor. I want a bass that has a good sound, but not for the electronics but for its construction and materials, so I'm judjing the qualities of the bass "unplugged" as well. And now I'm in a mess, because a fortress FL will cost me around 600 €... and I won't be able to try it before...

Yesterday as well, I tried too a Cort B4 FL, wich costs around 600€ too (baybe a bit less), and I get good feelings from it. Maybe I will buy this instead of the RB... I don't know what to do...

Maybe the fortress is as far very different from streamer... In a practical way? Feel? sense?

a lot of people dont like the playability and sound of warwicks and rb's in shops as they are often very poorly set up...it will likly sound worlds better after its been bought and propperly set up

Yep, I've found that EVERY SINGLE BASS in GC sounds crappy... Even the Warwick... Why? Because theyre setup HORRIBLY! The action is so high on them it makes it so difficult to play!

I actually took home a nt 5 string thumb a few months and it sounded like crap... After 30 mins, boiled the strings set it up and oiled it... It actually sounded like it should have... Although I did return this bass and got my 6 string bo thumb.

I'd love to know what happens to these basses that they end up that way.When they leave the factory they're,"set up".All the new Warwicks I try out at shops are set up really well.Some of the used ones could use some work but that's expected.

I've said this before... my Rockbass Streamer is amazingly playable - it was great in the shop (but tuned down a bit, as they tend to be!)

I've still got it as a spare, and still give it a play, despite the obvious competition from the other basses!

PS... from what Greg says... all shop Warwicks I've tried have been fine, and I've not had to adjust the set up (yet) following string changes
