Another Thumb maintenance thread

so Ive decided that my neck on my 2005 Thumb BO 5 needs to be oiled because it looks sorta dry and has some of those wood divots veginning to show up. YOu know, the ones where you coud fit a pin in them.

SO, what is the besty method for oiling the fretboard? I have lemon oil. DO I apply to a clean rag, rub the fretboard down and then buff with another clean rag, or what?

Also, shold I be oiling my Bleached Blonde's neck?? Ive never been good at the bass maintenance thing, but I need to learn quickly since Im investing in collectin liited edition basses as well as basses that are my work horse (like my Thumb 5).

That's exactly how you use lemon oil on the fingerboard,just dont overdo the oil.You should wax the back of your neck rather than oil it,wax is safer I reckon,you dont want an oily sticky neck eh mate.

I suggest only oiling the fingerboard, and if needed, waxing the back of the neck. When you oil the fingerboard, make sure you remove the excess of oil with a clean cloth, and as said in the previous post, do not overdo it. Once every few months will be fine for oiling the fingerboard.

And about the waxing, twice a month should do fine.
