Amp Protection...

So - how do you guys all look after your amps?

I'm looking for some kind of protection to keep my two Pro FET heads safe whilst in transit.

They're not going to get knocked around much - we're not doing any heavy duty touring, but I'd like something to keep dust off them between gigs, and protect them from scratches whilst in my car going to and from gigs and rehearsals.

I'm not really wrapped in the idea of a bulky rack case - I don't think I need the heft and bulk of such a heavy duty solution...I was thinking more along the lines of a heavy duty bag each one of them could go into. Like a padded gig-bag for amp heads.

Any ideas?

There are pretty small 2U rackcases out there, especially for travelling.

Get a rackbag. They're solid but has a sort outside layer with good handles for carrying

Yeah - they look OK - but I'd rather just have a soft bag that I could take the head out of and sit the head on top of the cabs naked when playing.

Something like this would be ideal if it didn't have Aguilar written on it

I've got a hardcase of some sort. I think it's a thomann.de banded one.

Seems pretty good though, my Pro Fet IV is screwed in place. there is space above it for ventilation and when I'm driving or on the move both the front and back come off/go back on and it has the look of a very large briefcase.

I'd recommend it.

If is more than 4U then I suggest getting a rack case. Something like the Gator ones with rollers on it. That's the one I'm using now, pretty convenient, I just put all my shxt in there, tug and go, easy!

Yeah - they do a Rockbag which is designed for a 19" 2U high head .....just wondering how durable they are. I might order a couple.

well a heavy duty double wall flight case would be the best solution, but they are really heavy. I'd suggest you to check out bespeco (www.bespeco.net) plastic cases, not much protection, but better than nothing. They are ultra light as well, I have one, serves me well, but more for storage purposes than transportation.
I guess they make them larger than 2U, I have seen smth. like 6U on wheels with a pull-out handle like the one on cabin size suitcase.

then why bother posting?? Seriously mate, you're giving an entire forum the shits!!!!!!! Posting an opinion is fine, but letting us know that you do nothing is simply trying to get ya post count up.


For the record, Luke, I use a 4space Gator Rack Case - more than what you need, but not hugely bulky and good peice of mind. I think Gator make rack bags as well.

Thanks guys - some good options, but I'm not really into rack cases or rack bags.

I simply want a bag to put the head in for storage and transport, and take it out and sit it on the cabs naked (the head that is :lol: ) when playing.

The rack bags look really nice i'm thinking of getting one for my Eden at some point, just to protect it moving to uni an back.

The gator stuff is really good as well but tbh i'd only look into it if you need flgihtcase protection, but from what it seems like your just looking for a semi protective covering, no? then the gator stuff probably would be a waste of cash imo.

Ebay has a load of this type of stuff at really cheap prices. This is were i plan on getting my case from.
