? about my 1993 Fortress One

New guy here with a question. I have a 1993 Fortress One and I wondered if there is a way to tell if it has the aluminum truss rod? Would the serial# be any indicator? It has never given me any trouble but I may be selling it and the interested party does not want it if it has the aluminum truss. I don't mind not selling it if it does! It is a honey of a bass! :D
 
Hey mate & welcome.I thought the truss rod was made from mild steel.Florin or Oliver would know.
 
Thanks! I wasn't sure if I could mention the sale here and am unsure of sale rules on the Warwick forum. I have read that some earlier Fortress Ones had aluminum truss rods but now I am completely confused. I really would love to keep it but I am hurting for $ to offset the 97 Thumb score. The Fort is so easy to play and the wenge neck is fantastic! Not fishing for buyers here! I don't even want to sell it to the guy who wants it! :lol:
 
I am the new owner of this bass, and I am not worried about the truss rod, aluminum or otherwise, I love this bass and traded a really good and light weight p bass for it. I have no idea why such a good instrument would be discontinued? this one is nice and light with black painted maple body.
 
The alluminium trussrod was discontinued before 1993.
I think that no bolt-on Warwick ever had that trossrod.
 
That is good to know. I am really loving it, going to drop it off at my techs maybe tomorrow for a set up.
 
I agree, I have a few very different basses, a Geddy Lee j, a Moon, a fretless Modulus and of course now a Warwick, I love them all but the p-bass I just could not get into and this is my third variation of a p bass too.
If the Fortress takes a set up as well as my Moon did I will be happy indeed!
