Hi everybody and have a wonderful new year !

I'm a new and happy owner of a great 1987 Streamer Stage I.
It comes with a volume knob and a 3 band equalizer with active EMG pickups.

I'm a bit puzzled about the lack of a balance system. A passive/active switch could be good too.

I was wondering I there was a quite easy way to change the electronic to get the "modern" Streamer system with a push/pull-balance-volume knob ?

I've checked a bit on the internet and I'm quite lost on that point.
Must I change the pickups too to achieve that "surgery", or a simple rewirering would do ? Must I change the electronic system and keep the pickups ? And in that case, what kind of electronic system should I use ?

I hope I've made myself clear.

Thanks a lot and keep the groove

you should be able to keep the pickups whatever they are and just buy a "MEC 3-band preamp"

Hey Thom, welcome to the forum :-)
If you have active pickups, then you need to buy this:

Easy to fit, and wire :-)

Good Luck mate!

If you don't have the balance knob but a 3 band EQ - the bass was modified (it came with 2 Band EQ at the time)
probably at a time where it was hard to get stacked knobs and the previous owner obviously did not wnat to drill an extra hole:-)
