30in scale thumb...

Wondering if anyone here has a 30in scale thumb? Or has played on?

I'm looking at shortscale fretless basses now... I wen't to the far extreme of big basses... Now how about something small?

I won't have the money for a few months but I'm trying to decide now. With my tendonitis giving me trouble now and then, I thought a small little bass would suit me just fine (I'll be keeping my beast though )

So I'm torn between a Birdsong Sadhana (31in scale) or a Thumb 4 (30in scale) Most likely with the 5 string pickup positioning.

I love short scale basses.I always make a point of trying them regardless of make.
The Warwick options are;
Neck Scales
30" short scale - custom shop BO basses only.

i would go with the thumb. i had the same idea awhile back, and i really want to follow through with it one day...

Yeah, I'm leaning towards the thumb a bit...

After a bit of thinking, And looking at my CS ideas... I don't think I'll go with anything fancy. I just want a built like a tank bass that will last me a lifetime. Which my Thumb 6er already is... But I've been wanting something a bit more basic and compact.

For the Thumb, I would problaby go with a bubinga pomelle body a wenge neck and the fretless unlined ebony fb. a jan1, passive pickups/electronics angled like the 5 string version... and of course 4 string with a 30in scale.

But then again, I'm really drooling over the Birdsong basses... Mainly the Sadhana model....

But again... I could always use that $1,800+ to buy all the tools/supplys I need and build my own bass for way less. All the hardware (minus the tuning machines) my father in law could build considering he's a machinest. The pickups would most likely be completly passive Bartolinis...

I've REALLY be considering the idea of building my own bass lately. I think once I FINALLY finish up my fretless mod on my thumb, I just may go for it and do it.

But we'll wait and see... I'm usually a big slacker
