Hello! I have 3 (now 2!) wonderful early Thumbs that I'm thinking about selling.
N.1 1988 4 strings. This one has the old-style tilted tuners with the plastic bushings around. Thin neck, no push-pull, usual EMGs etc. but it's been played more and the pickups show wear and the hardware on the bridge is faded. Sounds absolutely brutal, a real slap machine. Comes with non-Warwick hard case. Totally stock apart form ONE SINGLE screw of the back electronics cover (slightly different color). €1700
N.2 RAREST 1989 6 strings fretless UNLINED with partial lines on. Custom made for the original owner in 1989, I bought directly from his hands. Great conditions as it's always been used with flat strings and only in studio. The guy was a professional musician in the 80s and 90s. The fingerboard is like new and the whole bass is spotless... just has one ding on the back, visible under the right light, that could be easily sanded off.
Completely stock and absolutely lovely conditions. The truss-rod cover is missing. I could buy a "modern" one or made a copy out of Ebony... no big deal at all.
Original Warwick gig bag (pretty thin if you ask me). This one is an absolutely rare find, the only one I've seen in my 21 years of playing... so I'm not letting it go unless I get the right price for it. €2600.
I ship by UPS, have feedbacks on ebay (150, all of them as a seller and for expensive basses) and on other forums. Can ship worldwide. No trades, sorry.
I only have pictures of the 4 strings at the moment but I'll take pictures of the 6 later today.
I personally guarantee these basses as I'm a bass builder, so no hidden issues or whatsoever.
They're all solid, play and sound as they should. No cracks, no repairs, no bad surprises. I know these old oil-finished instruments need to be looked after thru the years... I've been in the market and found lots of nice basses with cracks, bad repairs or glue joints that went bad (fingerboard coming off on the edges, expecially at the body end). Keep eyes open.
