Hi all

This my first serious post so I hope I've put it in the right place...

I've just bought a lovely example of the 2003 LE Thumb BO Bleached Blonde and I'm loving it :d

However the flamed maple fret board is a little dirty after 6 years of playing and if possible I'd like to try and clean it up a bit. Trouble is I'm not sure how to do it.

Any words of advice and best way to do this would be much appreciated. Many thanks.
 
A bit of lemon oil on a rag & rub away. It depends if the muck is through the laquer tho. If its just surface gunk the lemon oil will get it.

Thanks for the advice., I'll give the Lem Oil a shot and will report back.

It is on the edge of fretboard, can't see it in the photos...I know it's not that bad but I want to try and keep her in as good a condition as I can...gotta love it!

That streamers a beauty, is it a custom shop, looks like quilted maple to me?

Hi Yeah, the Streamer is a custom shop job. Found it in a local guitar shop, it had been ordered then for reason not wanted. It was built in 2006 but it is in as new condition. Plays like a dream.
 
Lots of these

I just got my hands on one of these Bleached Blondes about a month ago. They're awesome, I love mine. I'm kind of surprised how many of them I've seen for sale recently though. There were two on Craigslist when I bought mine. There are currently two on eBay now, and I saw one on another European bass site too. There is a talkbass thread for a guy who got a 5 string version a while ago too. Great instruments. The Maple/Ash combo makes for a nice light Thumb. Very comfortable.
 
Couldn't really tell you noodles. I haven't had the pleasure of playing one of the stock BO thumbs yet. The only place I ever see primo Warwicks around here in real life is Elderly Instruments in Lansing MI (awesome store if you're ever in the area by the way). I have heard they have a bit brighter sound than the regular thumbs. The growl is definitely there, though, if that's what you're wondering. They're really versatile. Depending on how you play with the tone and pickup configs, and your amps EQ settings, you can get a real nice range of sounds.
