Hi,

just bought an immaculate 02 Corvette Classic 4 on ebay. Immaculate , that is, apart from the circuitry - it's distorting badly ( battery checked and replaced, same problem), and none of the pots are doing what they are designed for. I had a 2003 vette SE - which sounded great, and my Thumbs and Fortresses have always behaved.

I'm going to drop a new circuit in it, and need some advice as to which MEC eq to buy. I notice that this bass has got active pickups.

All help gladly received.

Thanks

G'day mate & welcome.
You'll need a 2 way MEC preamp which can be ordered through any Warwick dealer or you can buy it through the web store.
Good luck.

Thanks for the response.

Had a good look in the cavity, and notice that the wiring to the jack socket is a bit ropey!. I'm going to resolder the socket to see if that helps before I order a new circuit.

Has anyone put a 3 band eq into a Rockbass? I've found the flexibility really useful on my Yamaha 5 string.

Cheers

I havent seen anyone do that to a RB but people have replaced the 2 band eq with a 3 band in their Warwick bass & have reported to be happy with the results.Personally,I wouldnt bother unless you really need that mid boost/cut onboard. You can always use the mid boost on your amp.

Thanks.

I've ordered a 2 band EQ today.

You're right about using the amp mid controls - the Ampeg's got a lot of flexibility in the mid range - and the Yam is normally either flat or cut in the mids.

The RB is going to be a lovely bass when it's all sorted out!
