This was recorded on an '03 Thumb BO 5 string, with DR Black Beauty strings. I used an Eden WT-550 (direct out) in to a Tascam FW-1884 mixing board/recording interface in Cubase. These are the first 2 choruses of Marcus Millers solo on the track Grits, from the new SMV album Thunder...

And it was GREAT. One of the best shows I've seen (and hey, I'm a metalhead). His tone was awesome and his sidemen were as good as him (the saxophone player being my favourite, he rocked the place and had a lot of presence). Also, Marcus surprised me by playing a fretless solo, a keyboard...

Watching Marcus Miller was amazing. He played a tiny venue, but it was quite an experience. He had an some amazing musicians with him, and it was definitely one of the best shows i've ever been to. There isn't really a reason for this post, but i've never been so inspired to pick up my bass :D
