    Just-a-nut 1 Adjustment Question

Hi folks, realise it's been ages since I last participated on here. Far too long. Anyway I have a question that I hope is reasonably simple for someone to answer. I have just recently acquired a 1997 Streamer LX, which is a cracking bass and an ideal partner for my 1999 LX I have been using for...

    Looking for JANs (Just-A-Nuts)

I'm looking for a two JANs (just-a-nuts): One JAN I or III for a non-broadneck 6-string and one brass JAN I or JAN III for a non-broadneck 5-string. Let me know if you have an extra you don't need. Before anyone mentions it - yes, I've seen the current ABM brass adjustable nuts Thanks!

    'Just-a-nut III

I'm about to receive my new Taranis in two days, WOOT! I've had a few corvette's about 10 yrs ago, then took time off for family. I'm familiar with the just-a-nut 1 and 2. My question is... Can the 'Just-a-nut III TOP part be changed out to accommodate EADG strings? I'd like to use the...

    Just-A-Nut on other guitars?

Forgive me if this has been asked before, but does anyone know if I there is a Just-A-Nut available for a Fender P-Bass? I have both a Corvette 5 string and a MIM P-bass that I recently broke the nut on. I really like the adjustability of the Just-A-Nut and was hoping one might work on the...

    Just-A-Nut letter from Mr. Wilfer

 I must admit I was a little angry when I had to order and pay for the brass Just-A-Nuts. This part was so commonly replaced here that my luthier was out of stock on all of them and I had to order more of them from Hanser. I sent Hanser a letter and they forwarded it to Mr. Wilfer...

    Just-a-nut question

Recently when I was changing the strings on my Thumb 5 (for the first time actually hehehe) I noticed that the nut wasn't attatched to the headstock, and relied on the pressure from the strings to keep it in place. Is this the way it's supposed to be? I've noticed that Warwick mentions gluing...

New Just-A-Nut III .. some questions

Well my new J-A-N III arrived today and i have a question or two. 1. Is there meant to be 3 screws because i only see 2 and 3 holes.. 2. When i adjust it do i have to loosen the strings?, take them off all together? or can i just leave them in tun on the bass. I think thats it really.

Has the Just-a-Nut always been on rockbasses?

I was looking over my Corvette and it doesn't have a JaN - the nut is part of the headstock top. I was wondering if the rockbasses have always had JaNs, and if not, what year did they go into production with them. (Mainly, I'm trying to date the bass itself, as it doesn't have a serial number...

    Just-a-nut 2

Where can I get myself two JAN 2's (one for a 5 string, one for a 4) if my local dealer doesn't carry them? I know I can special order them w/ my local guitar center but the last 2 times I ordered something from them it took 2 weeks longer than they said it would. I just want to avoid...

    Retro-fitting the Mk I Brass Just-a-nut

g'day everybody, BIG EDIT: here is a step-by-step (ish) account of how I changed out the Wilferite Mk.II Just-a-nut for the old-school brass JAN Mk.I on my Thumb 4BO. There's a problem common to many owners of Warwick basses, in that the Wilferite Mk.II Just-a-nut can easily break if you...

Just-a-nut III (recommendations for a future version)

OK, many people have complaints with their justanutIIs, so, let's write here what we'd like to see change in a future version of the warwick nut. Personally, I like the idea of adjusting every string individually, so I'd say a just-a-nut I made of wilferite (as warwick seems to prefer this...

    Just-A-Nut II

I've noticed that some people think that the Warwick just-a-nut 2 is made of plastic.Nothing could be further from the truth, why would they change from a brass nut to a plastic nut?with all the features and technology that goes into making a warwick sound the way it does why on earth would a...
