Pondering the above, specifically the bridge pickup on my FNA Jazzman 5 versus the one on the Taranis 5- I notice the latter is basically a MM shape extended to 5 strings whereas the former is a different shape- is this just the cover or are they two different animals? Any information on...

Hey all, I have a 6 string Bubinga 'vette, and I'm considering my next bass. I know the PU's in the 6 string 'vettes are soapbar humbuckers, and I guess I'm curious.. Is the difference in sound between a $$'s pickups and those on my 6-string significant? I know it's a subjective question...

hi. i have 2 passive lefay soapbar humbuckers. from every pickup, there comes a black cable that contains one blue wire, one white wire, and one blank wire without jacket. now, i think white is hot, blue is ground, right ? but what is that blank wire for ? and my second question...
