Oh you bet, Ulrich! That's what this community is all about. Helping each other out with information/knowledge. Stoked you got it! Add another classic Wick to your already fantastic vintage collection. Huge congrats!! :)

Also, as Schlo mentioned in private chat, this is probably an '85, but you might find a serial penciled in under the pickups or bridge. They occasionally did that back in the day. Maybe @schlobodan could confirm if he's ever seen a serial in those locations on these paddleheads.

Hi all, i have an early Warwick Streamer with the paddlehead. On the top of the head (not the front) it has a number : L577 86. The pickups are Seymour Duncan ActiveEQ ; this are those with the 3 mini switches on each pickup. Does anyone have more info on this model. I bought it new in Germany somewhere in the eighties. I will try to make photos of my Streamer and post them on this forum. It looks like the Streamer #103 of Schlobodan only different pickups.

Number on top is normal for this era (Dec 1986) bass as are the pups, they were an option (not CS) in this period. The rocker switches change the EQ centres, there is info available on the internet re what the frequencies are. My 1987 5th Anniversary came with x2 Seymour Duncan P pups with these switches. I'd be interested to see the headstock as that is very late for a paddlehead.

Hi - I thought from earlier discussions that from '86 the Streamer-I was created and the paddle head was changed to the now headstock.... can you please share some pictures of your bass?

I read the thread on the Spector Head 1984 #167 (@schlobodan). Since P-J is the regular setup, obviously the P-P is a heavy customization (pre-peenut). As a matter of interest: has any of you seen a J-J pickup configuration (kinda pre-Streamer II)?

I recall seeing a custom Streamer, pre SSII, with 2 J's.

I think. Possibly.

Could be wrong o_O

At least there is one in my herd (without number...). I guess the fretless versions arrived only with the Streamer I in 1986, that's one I would be really after.

I now am the owner of #164, bought from a gentleman in Monkeberg, Germany and I imported to California. So happy with it!

I’m also now going through all the earlier pages of this thread, and saw #167 was shown to be crazy thin, and I can say #164 is as well. Thinner than my 30th Anniversary streamer by a noticeable amount.

also:

-all original hardware
-no center detents on bass or treble
-headstock veneer is not stained black
-“Made In West Germany” marking on cavity cover is a sticker, not a molded impression
-Weighs 7lbs, 6oz

I just realized I have a question about my new-to-me Streamer that somebody here might know about…

The output is very low. Lowest by at least half of my ‘98 Thumb NT, my 30th Anniversary Streamer, and a new Spector LE77 with SNC HAZ.

In the cavity, the MEC board looks just like every picture of the cavity in this thread…hand wired, hand built MEC board, etc etc. It sounds fine. Bass cut might be more than the 30th Ann. Streamer.

Is this typical? Should I be getting a meter out and start probing?

Once you have the setup in place you like to play (string height etc) then you check the distance PU/string. I have about 5mm for the J and 7-9mm on the P. I can upload pictures next week. The preamp looks like the one I posted here in Dec '19 ?

I find this forum a little tricky to dig back for previous posts, but here’s a pic of what I have. Looks like every paddlehead preamp I’ve ever seen.

My pickups are about 4.8 for the P, 4.1mm for the J, via caliper.

Slightly different to mine - this red pot with 100/16 and + & - written , is it turning ??
Any dead soldering point ??
Maybe @schlobodan knows more on the preamp
