The Spector Headstock Streamer Thread

Getting there - week 1 after purchase of the Streamer #198 (pre-license period)

Did the waxing - polishing - waiting exercise
Nice grain - ain't ??
Implanted the EMGs

Waiting for the '84 preamp from @schlobodan and other goodies (pots ....) - massive thanks again !!
that soldering job of pots & preamp will be a little challenge (preamp from the #167 paddle sold from Schlo to Flo) - this is real circular economy

First basic setup - convincing sound
Happy with the purchase !!

Number #198 from the 1984 (pre "licensed by Spector" period) lives 👍
The Mystery Fretless that was forgotten the last 40 years in a dusty storage room 🤣
Last week, I was soldering the BEC-2 rev.0 from 1984 into the naked beast - and
NO SOUND 😳
Wrote to @schlobodan and he sent me a BEC-2 from end 80s. Put it in yesterday - and
IT WORKS 🥳

Back-to-back : fretless #198 and the fretted 1985 paddle head without serial number (Streamers produced under Spector licence).
The cherry of the 1985 is very deep and dark

Particularity of this bass:
They drilled white fretmarkers at the right spots (for a fretless bass) but on all 24 positions 🤣 so, I blanked the redundant ones with black edding for now, and may replace them with wenge inlays later on.

The body shape of #198 is very, very thin as for all early models, mentioned by Schlobodan earlier.
You see a comparison
left : the first limited Series (#009) from 1987 (the red colour comes from the shellac coating)
Middle : #198
Right : the Paddle Without Number.
