WTB new cabs

I pretty much hate my cabs, and for the cost of replacing speakers I can buy a new cab, i've really only gigged with a SVT 810E other than my own gear, and I defintely liked it way more than my own. Also really like the neat little guitar hanger you can get for them.

opinions?
 
The Warwick pro cabs are always a good buy for the money. If you fancy it you could always go for the 811ND for an 8x10 that weighs less than the average super model.
 
This is kinda like asking "what's my favorite color?". To each his own goes for cabs as well. There's just so much criteria...
A good place to compare feats online is thomann.de's webshop (which is also in english). You can pick a small selection there then try to test those in the gear shops in your vicinity.

Way back when I was in the market for cabs I went down to a shop where they sell many different kinds and took 4 them into the testing booth. I ended up getting SWR cabs for their tight low end the hf horn you can dial in as little or much as you like. Warwick pro cabs have the same feats but at that time I couldn't try those out anywhere near.

Then there's ergonomics - I much prefer stacking up a 1x15 and 4x10 (what you currently own as well) to just having a single 8x10 as it handles much easier then a big clumsy and heavy 8x10, for small gigs I just bring the 4x10. As my amp doesn't like driving cabs way down at 2 ohms I picked two 8 ohm cabs.

The only way to gain knowledge here is going out and testing them, the answers you will get on a forum aren't worth as much.

man i hate guitar center, they put saint louis guitar exchange out of business about 10 years ago, and guitar exchange was the ♣♣♣♣, huge variety and selection. i would definetly like to try SWR cabs out. and Aguilar.
 
anyone know of retailers in the US who sell warwick 811 nd's? i find nothing!
 
I am on the same quest now as my SWR workingpro don't handle the beefy sound of the 5 string SSI very well. I'll let you in on anything I learn mister Chairman :)
 
I was also thinking of buying a new cab. Have you looked into Orange cabs? They have a bunch of new bass cabs that just came out. I was looking into the SP212 (I think that's what it's called). Check out Orange. They have great sounding stuff.
 
I've been browsing and browsing and browsing for specs, opinions etc. to get an idea of what I'm looking for...

I have come to these conclusions:

I want punch, good low end response (now having a 5 string) and portability aka the cab not weighing more then roughly 40kg and fit in my SUV. I also want my set to have enough headroom left to cope with any metal drummers.

IF I choose to go for working with just one cab, in roughly the same price range my choices are:

1. Warwick Hellborg Big Cab 2x15" (which has the punch of a good 4x10" or so I've heard)
2. SWR Goliath III (Great low end but can be tinny, might not like that)
3. Eden D410 XST (Read nothing but good news about this rather pricey 4x10)

Can the horn part of the concentric 15" fullrange speaker be adjusted on the Hellborg Big Cab?
There are no shops anywhere near where I can audition these cabs. Anyone used these cabs and care to share their experience?

I have read nothing but good stuff about the Eden cab but the SWR is a lot cheaper. The Big cab is sexy as hell! Choices choices times is hard!

I have all the time in the world to make my decision since I've spent most my spare money on the SSI last week LOL.
