Guys, I saw this video a week ago, but now I am home and I tested it on my dead strings. It really works, haha!!!!
I guess detuning is the key, and also pulling the strings hard, with 2 fingers so it really slaps the ♣♣♣♣ out of the strings.

I will let you know how long it last :)

Sorry bro, I was one week in tour :-)
Too bad I dint't knew that tip 6 days ago...

really? Have you detuned it before? I think this is the key...

LOL! But really, I have new strings on my xbass after 2 minutes slappada♣♣♣♣! That's amazing, and now the 2nd day, I still have the fresh sound.

yep, detuned, some slap/pop and then tune back.

I don't think slapping is the way, but popping them really hard with 2 fingers.

Basically what you're doing is shaking off the dirt.

I use a different method. It's called Amazon.com. You guys should try it. :D

So it worked for you? I tried it the other day and there wasn´t any noticiable change in the sound. Maybe my strings are older/dirtier than yours.

I still have to make moar experiments with it, but to me, so far, it is useless. ;)

I wonder what the long-term effects are on your bass - I mean you're repeatedly smashing the hell out of your frets.

I've read somewhere this morning that WD-40 is also nice cleaner and in theory it can clean strings from sh*t.

Are you kidding me? :-))) I am pretty sure I use more force during shows :-))
