I recently bought a brand new passive Corvette Standard which I have totally fallen in love with. This is my first Warwick after 23 years of bass playing and I am blown away by the tone and quality.
Anyway, I am finding that the Corvette makes a very very good Jazz bass. So much so that I am considering selling my MIA Fender 75 Jazz and using the Corvette as my main Jazz tone bass played with fingerstyle.
So next I am after a Precison sounding bass to thrash about on with a pick and have been considering either a MIA Fender Precision or Lakland Bob Glaub. However, I was wondering that as the Corvette Standard makes a very good Jazz tone, do any of the Streamers make a great Precision type tone? I notice that the Streamer LX has the split precision pickups plus a Jazz bridge pup and so does it make a nice clunky Precision tone? The other one I like the look of is the Streamer $$ with the twin MM pups but again, what sort of tone can I expect from this?
Is a Streamer LX or Streamer $$ going to be the right sort of bass to give me that Precision type of tone?
