Driving home with a WA600 and a new '12 Rockbass Corvette $$ to try over the weekend.

This is going to be fun!

:)

Oooh do tell us about the amp once you took her for a spin!

OK, first things first.

The 2012 Rockbass Corvette $$ ROCKS! This is a seriously great bass! OK, it's passive (I'm a passive guy at heart anyway), but it sounds GREAT. I guess it doesn't have the versatility of it's active cousins, but that's OK with me. I've very conservative about on board EQ anyway, and the Series/Parallel switching with Vol/Vol and tone control give me as much as I need.

In series it's big deep and ballsy but remains articulate. I love it. Huge tone! In parallel it's closer to my Ash 'Vette STD (but not the same). Smoother with clearer highs than in series and more conservative lows. Sounds crystal clear playing chords in parallel with a really nice tonal character.

The build quality on the 2012 Rockbass is flawless. Warwick can really be proud to put the W on the headstock of these basses... The Ash body is beautiful, the matching of the two piece body is as good as I've seen anywhere! They just keep getting better and better. Even the setup was nice out of the box; I only had to tweak it a little to my taste but it was very playable from the factory. Impressive.

I'm keeping this $$ Rockbass. It's simply that good. It's already in my signature!

:d

I'm trying the WA600 head still. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet... it's interesting! I have a question about driving it's input gain in the amp section, and I'll play with it some more over the weekend.

:d

Thanks for the review, Luke :)
You have a thing with the rockbasses, eh? It is true, the new ones are amazing!

Wait have you already added the $$ to your sig? :)
here we go again, i recon you will be sporting a huge sig of various vettes again soon.

I've been playing a bit with the WA600 also, through a WCA410 and WCA115. Let me know if you've got any questions, and enjoy your new Rockbass $$!!
