Imagine a Streamer Stage I with an ash body, poplar or birch top, maple neck and birds eye board...
What special character will this bass have and will it have enough "bass"? ...or will it sound too "thin"?
 
...birds eye MAPLE board (sorry!!)...
 
Typical Maple boarded slap monster. Less Warwickish, but not too standard sounding due to the Maple NT neck. I don't think it will sound too thin, if you have standard pickups (or $$). Maybe it will have less lowend than some other basses, but that's also the case with the 5 string Thumb. and hey, that sounds anything but thin...... :twisted:
 
The ash body should give it more than enough low end.
