What to choose, what to choose...

Ok, I've already posted a similar topic of Talkbass.com, but I figured I'd come straight to the source I plan on purchasing my first brand-spanking-new never-before owned Warwick once my tax return comes in. I already own a used 2005 Corvette FNA Jazzman 5 and a used 1998 Corvette FNA 4, both in great condition bought off of Ebay, however, I want to get one that's all mine and make every little blemish my own (not to say that I abuse my basses, because I don't, lol). The two basses that I've narrowed it down to are a Streamer Stage II and a Thumb NT. I play a variety of musical styles, but mainly alt. rock, funk, and blues. Any thoughts on which bass might suit my particular applications better than the other?

Both the Streamer SS2 and the Thumb are excellent instruments.
I think you have to testdrive both of them and make your choice based on how you think they feel and sound in your hands.

But based on what music you play I would say the Streamer is the most suitable. It´s a little more "all-round" compared to the Thumb.
But thats just my opinion, and I love the Streamer shape and sound.

I didn't vote, because both bases will suit you perfectly, it's just a matter of which tone you will prefer? My advice is play them both and decide, cause those are both pretty expensive basses that you don't want to spend money on and then decide you would have prefered the other one...

the thumb has quite a specific sound and isn't as versatile, while the streamer is more versatile. listen to Incubus SCIENCE and then listen to Mudvayne and defide which tone you prefer, those two albums give you a pretty good idea of what each bass sounds like, although I still haven't managed to get my thumb to sound exactly like the mudvayne tone

Thumb: more aggressive, growl, midrange
Stage 2: more low end, more balanced sound.

Both great basses; I used to own both, but I ended selling the Stage 2 and kept just the Thumb

i can't pick one, it just depends on what kind of sound you're looking for. i like them both for many different reasons, hence why i own both!!!

Why not forget about this "buying brand new" fascination and buy both second hand

I have never owned a brand new bass (or car for that matter) as I can't bear to lose so much the moment I play it. Also, they won't be brand new for long.
