on the headstock.... is it abalone? it doesn't look colorful enough. mother of pearl? (i think that's the other common one)

help!
 
i was actually wondering the same thing earlier tonight... :?:
 
so i was looking on the bay for some mother of pearl, that stuff is cheap! i think i'll get some to help with warwick-ifying my rockbass :)
