So i guess this thread should be named bass chords:x

these are guitar chords, in the first post. Weird style of showing them though.

no they aren't guitar chords. They might be for a 6 string bass though

they are for guitar Kyle, standard tuning. I play some guitar, and believe me, these are ordinary guitar chords. They would't make much sense when played on bass (even 6-string), neither harmonically nor sound-wise.

Yup - deffo guitar chords unless your 6 string bass was tuned with a Bflat 5 string! They'd sound nasty on a regular 4ths tuned bass!!

As to why the would be on a bass site ... total guess here, because as it was already said, weird way of showing them....

Knowing exactly what notes the guitar is playing, lets us know what notes to accent in our bass lines. Other than that, I have no idea, would have to see in what context it was posted.

To work with a 6 string bass you would have to set your bass up E A D G B E just like a guitar but I still don't think they would sound good. Trying to play 5 or 6 notes at a time on the bass, especially in first position, that would sound like crap I would think. Confused sounding Mud is what I think you would end up with.

They're definitely guitar chords Kyle... (in your first post):

The problem with sites like Bassmasta is that everybody can submit tabs, while there's no official authority (or something like that) that checks them....In other words; you can find a lot of good (usuable) stuff on these sites, but you'll always have to consider that there's a lot of nonsense also...

yep, geetard chords.. a style of writing them down by frets from the lowest to the highest string.. which is stupid, as everything associated with guitars ;)

yep these look like defenant guitar chords.
how you read them:
eg: A#7 (Bb7) x x 3 3 3 4
this means obviously its an A#7 (Bb7) chord. the x's represent not strumming the E and A strings and the 3 3 3 4 means 3rd fret D string, 3rd fret G string, 3rd fret B string, and 4th fret high E string

Here's hoping Kyle recognises the online dictionary so he dont copy & past that :)

haha, it was late at night when I
posted it. Funny part is I thought
that they were guitar chords at first
and i looked at them and was like
these are bass chords. I dunno hmm.

Sad part is I know most of those
chords on guitar.
