I MIGHT bid on this (big maybe!). i also think the pickups maybe MEC, not unless they didn't start using them until '92...

I'd do it. A buddy of mine had his headstock break on his Gibson SG, now its fine. Also, I've heard people say that glue used is stronger than the wood was.

This is an easy repair IF it's done right.Personally,I wouldnt touch it unless I knew the repairman that actually did the job.On the other hand,if it breaks again, you can always get it fixed properly.

go for it. Cant loose at that price.

yeah. do it. I got my fretless corvette for $300 since it had a cracked neck that was repaired. You really can't even tell if it's done right. It's more psychological than anything.

re. pups - they could just as easily be MEC or EMG, no valid reason why they couldn't be one or the other; in this period plenty still came with EMGs even though MECs would be standard.

i was thinking $750 considering the condition of the rest of the bass. since i'm jobless at the moment (that will change during the summer), my loving/caring dad (that's not sarcasm) would front me the money, and he's thinking about it...:D

As long as the bidding war doesn't get out of hand over the next 4 days of the auction, $750 sounds like a good price to top out at and hopefully you win for even less! :D

Neck/headstock repair should be fine - it was repaired by Guitar Factory (I assume they know what they're doing with such a common repair) and such repairs are usually stronger than original!

Don't psychologically make the bass yours yet. If you start thinking of it as yours now, you are more inclined to want to bid a few dollars more... then a few more... and just another $10  you get the picture!

450$ for a SSI '91 with repaired headstock... yeah it is not too expesive but like Florin says: it is an easy repair but i hope it is done properly.

ok. i'm still debating whether or not i want to bid on this. at what price would it be an absolute steal?

nope, i couldn't get to it today...my dad forgot and i was at school...oh well. i didn't want to pay that much anyways.
