Battlesoul - Silence + Gaul

Battlesoul : Nice folkloric metal band from Ontario... We played with them this year when we launched our last BBF album "Chernobyl survivor" here in Quebec... They play in kilt and torso naked on stage and they give a nice show and play nice music !!

IMHO one of the best Death Metal records ever released (and probably the best technical Death Metal record). The way Incurso's been produced really gives you space to hear all instruments pretty clearly - it is very bright but highly effective nonetheless; the virtuosity is unmatched, and the very groove of the album is unique. Great album! Can't wait to hear the next one.

I brought this into practice yesterday and our guitarist asks "is that a drum machine"? :D That song is crazy.

My favorite song is Apparition by the way. That bass solo near the end really wraps up everything. Plus, there is something with that tone that is special.

The production on this is sounding a little dated (it's from 1990) but the fingerstyle bass tone I still love to this day and it's likely from a Warwick as well :)

Seriously, this is one of the best bass song / solo I've ever heard. I really mean it. Also it sounds awesome. What a tone.

Too bad I can only thank you once le Jester, that ain't enough.

It is Doug Wimbish playing afaik. He has owned several Wicks among which a SS2 4 and a Thumb NT6.

It is indeed, saw him play with Tackhead a couple of times (1989 & 1990), he did the track live with a Warwick 5.
