What are you listening to..ATM?

@APC: it is brilliant, not their song however. but a great cover.

I didn't know it was a cover...:x
Thanks for helping me improve my musical knowledges.
By the way, now that I have listened to both (original+cover), I can say I definetely prefer the cover.:P

heh..." the beautiful Marcus Miller homage to the late, great, Jaco Pastorius. I've heard that when Jaco left Weather Report that Joe Zawinul offered the bass spot to a young Marcus Miller. By that time though Marcus' abilities had already be noticed by none other than Miles Davis and so MM had to turn the Weather Report Gig down. Ironically, the gig with Miles Davis is the one gig that Jaco wanted more than any other but it never happened. Life is strange like that sometimes. Jaco died way too soon in 1987 and Marcus penned this composition as a dedication to the fallen genius for a Miles Davis album entitled "Amandla" in 1989... " (Bass Musician Magazine october 2009)

this a very kewl live version of imho one of da most beautiful songz evah... 8:

That's a nice track Da Vonk; this one here has one of the prettiest piano intro's of all time and the bass kicks in at around subtle and smooth ~2 min 50, as for the sax solo....

KYPCK is awesome. My hometown boys :P
i started listening to them fairly recently, and really like them ever since. they have that raw production that distincts them from many bands of similar caliber. not to mention finns singing in russian language. if someone said to me that they really do that stuff, i'd ask him if he was high or something :D love all their songs, but "Vals Smerti" somehow found it's home in my head.

Some scary hillbilly crap that is playing in the scary hillbilly bar I happen to be in right this moment. I guess that's my own fault though. I could leave but I just bought a beer and that would be wasteful.

Never waste beer:

Arif is the whole reason I started taking bass seriously. He's the building block of what I aspire to achieve and surpass.

Sh*tloads of character and originality there, respect. Your reference (Sami Lopakka specifically) brought some older work of his to mind. With the band Sentenced, a song with full credits on him on the AMOK record from 1995. I have the original CD and couldn't find the song in good quality on the tube, so I uploaded it myself. Long epic song but with amazing flow, never gets tiring. I absolutely love it.
