What are you listening to..ATM?

Once again Mihalis from David Gilmour's eponymous first solo album-- such a mystical, atmospheric piece comped by the subtle mastery of Rick WIll's Fender Precision bass - the latter much maligned in these here parts but sounds great in this context-

Be honest, you've always wanted to know what a cross between klezmer and afro-beat would sound like.

Just watched this, again: Herbie Hancock's Chameleon, live in Munich in 1989. Great performance all round. I especially dig the drumming in this. Seen it so many times now.

This popped up in my recommended earlier. Watched it twice already. Somebody went and re-recorded the entire AJFA album but in a death metal style. And he reinterpreted it too, not just copy it note for note. I'm not a Metallica fan but this is really well done, in my opinion. Better watch it quick before Lars sues him.

A clip from the soundtrack of Luc Besson’s La Femme Nikita- has to be some of the coolest and melodic examples of Fretless harmonic slides I’ve ever heard- great film by the way-

A bit of Dying Fetus today. Sean Beasley is a beast on bass. Tapping, sweeping picking and vocals. He absolutely destroys. And I love the tempo change at 2:44.

The prog/fusion submissions triggered a couple of these I haven't listened to in a while-
