Warwicks ethic and social responsibility

Hello everyone. This is a thread I made because of a school project. The project is about companies ethics and social responsibility. I have chosen Warwick as my company of intrest.

Anyone here that got information on how Warwick retains their social responsibility and ethics.
Considering for example
> The use of exotic woods in some bass guitars (environment in general.
> Ethic of pricing and competitioners
> Product (regarding the quality)
> Marketing communications

These are just some examples.

I'm from Norway and some of the terms I've used may not be the same in my language so if there are any misunderstandings I'll try to sort it out ;)

Haha no I am not asking you guys to do that. More just some ideas from other users :lol:

For example the use of exotic wood may cause some reactions from certain organizations. Not that I hope for it, but wouldn't that give Warwick a responsibility on regulating the amount of exotic wood they use in their production?

Well who does not love the wood in Warwick basses :) Looking for more ideas.
 
Hello Erik. On the environmental side, one thing I know is that the Warwick factory in Markneukirchen is running self sufficiently using solar power and also unused scrap wood that is burned for energy.

Really happy for Warwick lately! They seem to have got a lot of good PR and new artists the last couple of years.

From the Philosphy section "WARWICK differs from other bass manufactures in buying all its wood in complete rough logs or planks - none is obtained precut. This means more work, but ensures complete control over the wood used and the finished look of the instrument." May this also be for the sake of the environment?

I believe it is more relevant to the quality aspect. :) I would assume they want to select the exact parts for example to laminate a neck so that it is very stable, or make a body or body top that is very good aesthetically. The company's philosophy is quality wood, quality construction, it's the only way to get the Warwick sound. :d

Hey I was wondering the same stuff last autumn after reading some books about corporate ethics and responsibilities. Would love to know. Let us know what they answer :P
