Warwick thump

There's no typo in the title . I just want to ask, what Warwick would provide more thump being strung with flats?

cant go wrong with any of them but it all comes down to how much you want to part with..dont like flats myself but thats just me i like real strings:lol: joking aside i tried them on my thumb and found it to dead and hard to get anywhere near a sound i could live with.

just been thinking about this i think a StarBass Single Cut would have a nice full fat punch with flats...

Semi Hollow bodys have a certain sound to them.much more fat full sound say to a tight compact sound of a solid body..seen a demo a little back with the starbass and it sounded very big and very sweet..really nice instrument..as much as i love bright strings and a bright sound.the treble end for me on semi or even an acoustic body is very painfull and hard to balance,it kills the tone to a point...flats would remove the brightness without the sound being messed with,,if you get me...just my view of course..and excuse the babble i suck at explaining,and the "tone" word is different to us all lol

I suggest a maple-maple or ash-maple model with
active EQ and a humbugger near the bridge [plus
some kinda neck PU, any kind]. Oh yeah, almost
fergot: BOLT NECK !

My maple-maple "Warwick Streamer" bolt-on 5
happens to be made by Stuart Spector, but I'm
sure Wick can do equally well thumpwise. BTW
this one is wearing nylon flats [Roto' 88s].

Is maple neck that important? I have a bolt-on Warwick with ovangkol neck and pine body, would it get any close?

That ax is usually passive. I've had that one both passive and
active. Deep and dubby, but thump ? Well, it sorta thumps
but it's not really a thumper bass. My current version is active
and thumps a little better than the passive, but it's just not
the ax I grab if I'm gonna jam with a loud outfit and thus need
some solid thump.

You gotta add punch [mids] to dub [bottom] to get thump.
Thaz why I suggest a lotta maple, bolt-on build, and active
EQ so you can add mids [or subtrat BOTH high and low if
it's a 2-band with no mids knob.
