I've a question for the WBasses' makers.
Why do you make the Warwick bridge in that way?!?!?!?

For the LowB, if the string isn't tapered, is almost impossible to fit it into the tailpiece. I play Metal, so I can't use strings under 0.130 and is very difficult to find a string set that is tapered. On top of that, there's no way to know if the strings are tapered before buy them.
Now I've made it: I've removed the textile winding of the biggest string and I can use a set of D'Addario Chromes, but I't wasn't easy!

So, I cannot understand....Why Warwick basses are so "naughty" about strings??

Hi Matteo,

I never had a problem fitting any string on my thumb, maybe because it's from 1990 and maybe the bridge is a bit different from the newers, but I've heard that lots of people have that problem. Here on the forum, I've read that some people sand slightly the bridge so it can fit the string.
About the strings, i think that usually the sets that have tappered strings say it for example like this: .045, .065, .080, .100, .130TW , in this case the B string is a 130 tappered.

As Grim said, normally string sets "tell" you which strings are tappered, with a TW (tappered wound) mark. Check out some string brand´s websites, I´m sure your favorite brand offers TW strings.
